61. New resources for end-of-life care planning with people with learning disabilities: one-day conference

Written by Andrea Bruun, Research Associate, Kingston University.

For the last two years, The Victoria and Stuart Project has worked on finding the best ways of doing end-of-life care planning with people with learning disabilities. All good things come to an end, which means that The Victoria and Stuart Project is now also approaching its end-of-life. Its prognosis is crystal clear, 31 July is the end date. Before we say the final goodbye to the project, we want to invite YOU to our very own one-day conference!

Spreading the word has always been an important part of this project, so what other option is there than to plan a conference dedicated to it? Here are the conference details:

  • When? Thursday 20th June 2024, 11am – 4pm

  • Where? Tolworth Court, Old Kingston Road, Tolworth KT4 7QH

  • Cost? £40 (lunch included) Free for people with a learning disability

  • Who for? Anyone interested in “getting it right” for people with a learning disability at the end of life: Families, carers, professionals, service providers, managers, policy makers… and of course people with a learning disability.

See who we have invited to join us and give talks on the day.

The final programme will be announced very soon, so watch this space. There is one item we are 100% sure about though. At 3.30pm we will be launching our TOOLKIT! We will watch it go live here on our website – available and free for all to use afterwards!

Sign up for the conference here!

If you cannot make it on 20 June, then do not worry. We got you covered! The week after on 27 June, we have our final webinar, where we will also be presenting the toolkit. You can sign up for the webinar here.

We are looking forward to launching the toolkit and celebrating the end of the project with you (either in person or online)!
